mixing alchy with gas to get e85
Ok i know there is a conversion formula around somewheres but can anyone help me with this?
all i get is
http://mathforum.org/library/drmath/view/56289.html
say for example i mix in some 95% with 5 gallons of 10% gas, by my calculations i would need 37.5 gallons of 95% to get 85%. is this right?

They dont mix very well and you need to have the right alchohl to make e85. If you methenol it wont work. Some people have been able to do it though after trial and error. Try the e85forums you might run into the right conversion chart there or someone who can walk you throught the process.

after doing some research, the main reason why it cannot be mixed is the water in the alcohol. this is a simple solution to a simple problem. Add a bit of lime to the mixture, and the lime will indeed pull out any remaining water and thus, your ethanol and gasoline can, and will, be mixed.

im doing it as an experiment. if its not viable, i could just sell the shine to some local college kids and be done.
thats all. im just doing to see if it with my own eyes how well it works and whatnot.
