Getting the stock S5/S6 OMP to work with an AEM Infinity?

Subject is the gist of my question. Recently installed an AEM infinity 506 ECU on my S5T2, and have been trying to get it to properly drive the stock electronic oil metering pump. I've gone over the wiring and AEM settings & calibration process for the OMP at least a dozen times and have verified everything is set up exactly as AEM documents it, but my OMP ends up "sticking" at around 98% oil feed. Fortunately, I use the RA OMP adapter, so instead of sucking the sump dry, it draws premix from a separate tank.

I have a couple of known good OMPs to play with, and all behave the same way - they calibrate per AEM instructions, and seem to work/track correct oil feed % while the car is not running and you're using the laptop & AEM tuning software to drive the OMP. But once you start up & run the car, the OMP "sticks" at a high 90% or more level, flags the error and creates a nice smelly smoke show (presuming I keep my pre-mix tank full). Suspect something is not right with AEM's instructions, as the AEM Infinity electrically drives the OMP differently than how the stock ECU does (bipolar vs. unipolar).

If anyone has managed to figure out how to get an AEM Infinity to successfully run the electronic OMP (S5/S6 or RX8), please post up all the details!

I'd really appreciate it, and will owe you many beers!

Solved years ago, forgot to post the how-to!

Someone just reminded me I never posted up the solution to this...

Long story short, my problems getting the OMP to work, and other weird problems I was having with the initial install of my AEM Infinity were due to a mistake made in the wiring harness by the guy I hired to build the harness. Reference AEM schematic below, Instead of connecting the 86 coil terminal of the EFI main relay to a constant +12VDC power source (highlighted in yellow) he wired it to the ignition switched +12VDC source instead. This wiring faux pas prevented the AEM Infinity from properly "parking" the OMP stepper motor on engine shutdown, among other problems. Doing a quick rewire of the relay solved my problem, and the OMP calibrated and worked properly per AEM's documentation ever since.

Good to hear it, thanks for following up on an old thread. That sort of harness wiring thing will prevent the stepper idle valves in Supras and Evos from working properly also.
