All of this is done internal, this is not a generic ecu mated to work with an rx7, it is desinged to work with the rx7, WE use the STOCK plug mated to our board. So the number of pinouts is the same as the stock FD (like 76 pins).

I am not sure if this was the answer to both questions.
I thought you used an adapter plug for each vehicle(plug and play).
I know on the DSM models they use a different kind of sensor for engine position than the rx7. You are selling this unit for both cars.
Does this mean that the universal units are still specific to each vehicle?

No, each vehicle has it's own board for each application. The universal units are UNIVERSAL, meaning they can be wired to any fuel injected engine.

On fuel injected engines to pick up engine position and speed there are all types of sensors and teeth configurations. How does the universal unit deal with the different vehicles?

Okay, I was sold on this ECU over a month ago.

KDR promises to have my new motor installed the 2nd week in February, 2002.

Will AEM EMS be ready for my car by then?????????????????? Or will this be another never ending wait for me????????

Will this system work as a stand-alone race system? I don't have a stock ECU or harness (or RX-7 for that matter). I am thinking about going with a TWM throttle body and fuel injection so I can add boost at a later date

Oh yeah, an injected, street-ported, boosted 13B in a 1500lb car!!

I know it keeps coming up, but what's the expected release date for the RX-7? Is it still mid February?

One quick "can it do X" question: Can it handle wideband O2 sensors?

Late February, early March. Yes it can take wideband input with a controller.

My brother has a '93 FD auto. It has a fairly new Atkins ported rebuild along with big SMIC, racing fuel pump, 1200cc injectors and a PFS PMC.

If I can talk him into an XS T04e single turbo kit what will the AEM EMS do for his auto? He thinks his turbos blew up and now might be the time for a major change.

In other words what can your product do for the few auto FDs out there??

Ken

The auto 7's have their own ecu, we can't control it, but it will work.

Wide band input and auto correction are accessable in the software, it will do it.

Pardon my stupidity on this, but what type of controller are you referring to?

Wide band O2 sensors have to have a controller to maintain a temperature across the heater. This is an external "controller". You can run standard o2 sensors direct into the AEM unit, but not wideband o2's, these need their own controller.

So, the controller only controls the heater element in the sensor, right? The AEM can deal with the 0-5V range?

Ya, and How the race version hooks up to the N/A. I just read turbo mag do a dyno cell on it and this GSR with 6psi turbo went up 20hp with this plug in box. And wasnt fully tuned.
