AEM 3.15 is avail for download.

New version of the AEM Software is avail. Automapping is present, many bug fixes. They also added a option to turn the #10 injector into a 6th ign channel, good news for the people wanting to run a 3 rotor on it with split timing.

I would love to hear about others experience with the automapping function. I use to have a pfc and am debating between that and the aem unit.

Automapping is freakin' awesome. You set up a map of what a/f ratio you want at any given load/rpm data cell, and set how much room for adjustment you want to give the computer, then just drive around. Simple as that. Then as you drive your a/f ratio will go a little bit lean, then a little rich, then once enough data values are collected/averaged, your logged a/f ratio map will match the target a/f ratio map you previously set up. It is best suited to low/mid load tuning, as most cars go through the rpms so fast at wot that the ecu doesn't stay on a particular cell long enough to make the proper adjustments. But, you can always use 4th/5th gear or a long steep hill to keep your car from accelerating too fast. Then there are also the datalogs that you can tune from.

The PFC is a safer alternative though for those who have a problem with conservative tuning practices though.

Hey Chaz,

From the blown up engins I have seen the floor of S&H Machine,
you gusys at horsepowerfreaks should not comment on
road tuning with the aem, with and without autotune So let
these people know that a qualified tuner with a dyno should be used
not autotune. Rx7s are very prone to detonation, and the knock control
as per jason at AEM said that the knock signal will not protect the rotary
engine because one ping at boost and HISTORY.

I run a powerFC on mine with a wideband o2. We run our street cars between 24 and 30 psi. I have a dyno so tuning is no problem, but I would not tune a rotary or anything else for that matter for high boost
applications without one.

I work with all type of ECUs, Tech3,Wolf,Haltech,Fast etc, and the AEM
by far has the most I/Os and map functions of all. The AEM unit can do
anything you want with the right parameters set. Like when nitrous pressure drops, you can have fuel taken out, timing adjusted etc. or like when EGT rises, add fuel, adj timing per rotor or both etc. Its limitless
and that what makes it so unique and dangerous at the same time.

Find somebody with a dyno and wideband setup in your area and have them check the calibration of your wideband first, before you go tuning with it. We have found some off being either rich or lean{bang}
