gauge cluster woes

I have yet to get the tach to work with a 560ohm 1/2 watt resistor pulling up 12v. What does happen tho is if I plug in the tach wire (grey, aux8) or the cooling fans (aux6?) to the harness in the car, the coolant gauge pegs to the top and the odometer/trip display turns off the numbers but remains lit up.

Im about ready to burn this car to the ground so any help would be appreciated as my tuner gets here Saturday to tune the car.

Hi mate,

Can I ask which wire / what pin on the harness do you actually plug aux6 and aux8?

Thanks.

It's the yellow/blue on the smaller old Ecu connector. But u think I may have found the culprit

All the stock gauges needed was the ground put back on. Must have been tired from getting it all running and over looked it

The ground for the cluster runs through the X-14 connector to the emissions harness and is tied into the ground that bolts down to the top of the engine. Run the ground just as the factory did from that connector and it will save you from having to remove the cluster, which is never fun.
