FD A/C air conditioning issue with adaptronic

Hello - I am having issue with the car either shutting off or ramping rpm up to 3k when I turn the a/c on sitting idle.

I have tried to adjust some things under the idle control tab.

Any help would be awesome!

Hi guys,

Can you please post a log file of the idle issue together with the ECU file. Or send it to tech@adaptronic.com.au? Just so we can see what the ECU is reading during that time.

This might help as well, have you checked this video out -

Thanks.
Mark

Attached log and map in this post.

This morning I went out and logged me turning on the ac.
Car was still cold so idle was around 1500.
When I turn on the ac it surged to about 2400.

When we tried to dial back some of the setting with regard to ac in the idle tab the car would cut off so we set them back to the base map settings which is where they are now.

Here is another log.

This is after the car is good and warm. Just drove home from work.

Sitting idle at around 900rpm.

I turn on the AC and it drops down to 500rpm or so and then surges up high and bounces around a bit them finally settles back down around 1000rpm.

Same map that is attached in the previous post with the cold idle log.

Hi mate,

Can I ask you to try this file so we can see how the car behaves in open loop idle control? If you can do some logs again that would be great.

Thanks.

Thanks Mark

I took the car for a ride without using to ac at all to get it warmed up.

Once I got home I loaded your open loop map and then turn on the ac.

It surged up to just over 2k and stayed there. I then cut the ac off and it went back to normal. Just over 1k. I turn the ac on again and it went back to just over 2k.

I have attached the log.

Ok thanks for that. Aside from the high idle, it seems to be working OK. Do you think you can turn the idle screw so we can have the engine idle lower? I already lowered the idle extra effort for A/C on that file and it still idles high. You might also want to add more fuel in the 50-66kpa cells at idle because the AFR shoots up momentarily when you turn the A/C ON.

Hope this helps. Thanks.

Issue Resloved

Thanks for taking the time to help Mark.

This is what I did to resolve the issue.

I tried messing with the multiple idle adjustment screws but that didn't help.
I ended up putting them back to where I was idling at 1k rpm with no ac load.

I did go in and increase the fuel at 50-66kpa cells at idle.

Then I went in and slowly decreased the A/C setting in the map until I fixed the issue.

I think my problem before was not enough fuel at the 50-66kpa cells at 1k rpm. This was causing my car to stall and drop rmp when I lowered these a/c valuels in the map.

So, with the 50-66kpa cells increased at 1k rpm this is what I ended up with.

Additional target RPM:
A/C = 100

Extra effort for A/C = 5

Which is a good bit lower that the stock settings of 200 and 30.

Thanks again for your help.
