Erratic/loss speed signal to ecu

I have been having an intermittent issue where I loose the speed signal coming in to the ecu. The speedometer is working perfectly. I understand the trans has a speed sensor that feed data directly to the speed cluster, then it is converted and sent to the wire that gives the signal to the ecu. I was reading through the threads and didn't really find a fix other than someone stating to replace the dash. Has anyone found another fix for this?

Thanks

Sam

Investigate how your ECU sees the speed signal as it could be as simple as a pin, solder joint, etc coming loose. I have a custom harness between the ECU and dash harness that allows the ECU to see/send a few signals, including seeing the one coming from the speedometer.
