ECU Output Fuel Pump control? Adaptronic eMod009 s4 t2
Good morning rx7club.
I am finally getting around to prepping my engine for the Pnp adaptronic ecu. Short back story; built the engine in my garage over the winter, streetported, all new parts etc etc. Ran it for 1000km for the initial break in on the stock ecu. Now its time to get the standalone going, but I have a question regarding fuel pump control.
the setup:
s4 t2
mild streetport, exhaust port matched.
s5 rear iron, s5 housings.
85psi oil pres reg.
4x 1050x ID injectors
t04b s5 hybrid w/external gate (Tial)
(goal 300whp)
I have ditched the AFM and I want to be able to turn the pump on as the car turns on.
And not just jumper the coupler and have the pump running anytime the ignition is on. (pretty sketchy)
Through reading the forums I have seen that the ALL Brown wire on the AFM connector does this job but I cannot figure out what to do with this as it completes a circuit. The adaptronic ECU uses pin 3D for this fuel pump control.
Also this car was a NA before I swapped it to a T2 so it does not have fuel pump resistor relay.
I have contacted adaptronic and my local tuner guy and unfortuantely they have either done this a long time ago or cannot exactly remember how to achieve proper fuel pump control through the ecu.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. The weather is finally turning nice and vert weather is short.
Cheers,
Here is a pic of the pile. Powersteering pump and afew little things still to do.

The fuel pump is turned on by two events:
1. Key held to START applies +12V to coil of circuit opening relay.
2. AFM flapper (or in this case, your ECU GPIO) pulls a secondary circuit opening relay coil to ground.
The Adaptronic has a time programmable prime function, and will obviously keep the pump on while the vehicle is running.
I personally have a Select PnP on my S4, and I can promise you the fuel pump control works as desired.
Now I will state that if the starter solenoid is not directly connected (aka starter booster relay), you can have issues like this as I detail in the post linked below. I discovered this by realizing my fuel pump was running all the time instead of timed prime via the Adaptronic.

AHA! Thank you very much.
I will try that out. Exactly as you stated, the car starts and maybe after a few seconds the fuel pressure drops to 0. Inital coil (Starter opening relay) works but the secondary circuit was not starting.
Appreciate the response and help.
