Car broke down last night. Idled for 15 minutes with no problem and then shut down when trying to go into reverse. No RPM. Hall trigger is brand new. ID injectors seem to pulse just fine. Coils too. Running 4 AEM smart coils direct fire. Thinking trigger issue.

ECU wouldn't connect to laptop. Had to redownload drivers. Updated firmware from v12 to v13.

Please help.

Actually yes. It seems that the IAC is having difficulty because it's so old. It will hold idle but it's causing flooding. It takes a good 5 to 6 seconds at startup worth of right foot idle control before the IAC actually takes over. This was causing flooding. Good old windows 8 was preventing me from connecting to the ECU because the firmware was outdated and I needed to turn off the digital signature validation for USB drivers. I've been away from the car for a couple of months since this happened but in June I'm going to grab some new plugs and a new IAC. Steve Kan is going to remote into my ECU and re-setup my idle control when I get home in June.

My Ecu wont connect to my laptop. It says connect usb port. Anyone else have this issue? I have the series 6 select PNP ecu. The status light on the front does turn on when plugged in. Its the status at the top in WARI that shows no connection. When I plug the the ecu into the laptop, it wants to locate a driver and asks for a CD which I dont have.

 

The process for diagnosing your issue should be the same, make sure you have downloaded the correct drivers.
