gonna go down to guadalajara for x-mas and new years then I'm gonna rent a car and drive over to manzanillo and stay there a week. We were gonna do puerto vallarta but the gf and I were just there last april.

manz is not as nice as puerto v, but I'll take it for 120 bucks a night.. so if you guys ever want an inexpensive mexican vacation take alook at manzanillo.

This is where we will be staying:

Las Hadas resort

forget expedia, apple, funjet for the best hotel prices that I've come across:

I have also rented a car and went on the same damn trip you are planning on taking from Guadalajara to Manza.

So much more peaceful there than your typical Gringo destination IMO. Great Choice Montego.

Just make sure you guys take the toll road 54D out of Guadalajara towards Manza.

The Beautiful road that leads you to manza is well worth paying for IMO.

If time permits Tecoman and ciudad Guzman are also great pit stops on your way to Manza.

have a safe trip.

Thanks FDSeoul i must say you are rather well traveled. Actually I used to vacation in manz when I was younger (and on my parents dime) last time I was there it was 17 years ago and by looking at google maps the area has certainly grown. The GF has never been so I wanted to show her a "new spot". But since it's been so long for me it's actually a new spot for both of us.

I've been to ciudad guzman nice little place, good call on stopping for a bit. I was just planning on stopping and checking out cuyutlan. I'm unfamiliar with Tecoman so I just may check that out as well. We are traveling on our own itinerary so time isn't an issue. Again thanks for the heads up

17 years is a long time ago Montego. Manza has gone through so many changes in the last 10 years since i have been visiting. Man if you enjoyed Cuidad Guzman, you'll be sure to love Tecoman as well. I like stepping back in time in those little known jewel of a town. The People are always willing and helpful when they know you're passing through.

Stay away from eating Caldo de iguana and don't get suckered into paying extra for huevos de caguama

The cruise originally scheduled for December 13th is now planned for
January 10th. An announcement will go out this weekend.

Unless it rains again, the plan is the same. I will have an alternate identified,
just in case.

However, there was mention of a drive after the regular monthly meeting. I have not seen any details on that as yet.

Later,
John
