Welcome, hopefully yours doesn't turn it to a garage dweller like mine.

My turbo is gone and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet.

Thanks I will do that as well. What fludes are the best to use? Like the brand names and what kind oil do I need or is that in the FAQ's?

make sure you pull all the light bulbs and grease them with dielectic grease and all other electrical connections.

Alot of RX-7 have this problem, my headlight switch burnt up because of bad grounds.

Another elec. tip that I have yet to do but plan to do in the near future.
Rewire the power window switches, my power windows are painfully slow and from what I've been told if I rewire them per this diagram it will fix this problem.

I’m just passing along some info I gathered over the years.

I would use a good synthetic in the diff. and gear box (I like royal purple) you don’t change these that often so you might as well use the good stuff. For the engine oil a lot of people like the Castrol 20w50 (turbo cars) I again use Royal purple.

You should also flush your bake lines chances are its way over due.

I”ll keep posting stuff as it pops in my head…..not much going on at work today.

Bill

btw what part of Houston? I'm in the woodlands.

I might just replace the motor windows with manuals since it is lighter and less problems. One of the doors doesn't have glass because of the accident it was in from the previous owner.

Oh **** I didn't even notice you were in Texas LMAO. I am in the NW part of Texas. The brakes were a little soft so I might bleed and replace the old fluid. It has been off the road for about a year or so. So I plan on doing a 60k tune up job. The engine runs great and everything just have to do body work I will post pictures soon.

How does it drive? I would check out the front suspension really well.
If you plan to do suspension work you might want to look in to Ground Control. This is a good relatively low cost coil over setup. I have Ground Control coil over with KYB AGX shocks and the G.C. camber/caster plates.

Btw is it a turbo or N/A?

Never mind I just saw the n/a hood.

She runs fine when you make turns the left wheel rubs a little not much though. I needs a alignment for sure. I am just having trouble getting the door off that is all. Once the door is off I can see what needs to be fix and everything. I just fixed the sunroof and now I am doing the 60k tune up as we speak. The tachometer just went out as well. it was the stock one probably a wiring problem no biggie. The Check engine light comes on and I am just gonna go threw the line and see what happens.

Dang. I'd be worried about unibody damage in that case.

So you don't think it is fixable? I have done body work before and I think it is fixable. Is it going to be like it was before, No. Will it work for daily use, yes. If worse come to worse I have a Parts car available that I can buy and just swap everything over. I am going to see what I can do first before ruling this body as dead.

So far this is what I have to do:
Clean the Injectors
Check all the grounds/clean them if dirty
Emissions Vacuum Piping Changed
Compression Test
New Oil
New Brake Fluid
New Transmission Fluid
New Radiator Fluid
New Power Steering
Replace the Spark plugs and wires
pull all light bulbs and grease them with dielectic grease all electrical connections

Is there any other Fluids that I need to replace that I didn't mention? Is there anything I need to do for a 60k tune up? I need to know I want to do all this at once and I want to make sure I don't miss anything. Thanks again guys.

Even if it's damaged I would bet it would be minor and fixable. You might want to take it to an alignment shop before you get to deep in to repairs. If they can align it your go to go but if they can't you'll need it figure out what's wrong and they should be able to help you with that.

How many miles are on it... 60k? If so I'd say you got a pretty good deal if you don't mind fixing body damage

Yeh, I think that's a fair deal. Maybe 5 to 600 $ down the road and you'll possibly
have a DD. That's 1400 for a DD. Nuttin wrong with that in my book. I park my nice Titan and drive the FC to work. The FC is much better in traffic and keeps the mileage off the Titan. I paid 1300 for mine and it needs paint and much of what yours does minus major body work. I do need a fender and hood though. There just banged up minor.

Welcome

Woh, I just watched the vid and it might take a bit much than 5~ $600.

If it's a low mileage motor you'll still be ok though.
