Only reason I posted in the first place was to share my experiences. Then after I thought about it, I thought it best to retract the post. After that, it was ME that was attacked, not the other way around. All you have to do is read for yourself and you can see that. Only thing I did after that point was defend myself. Sorry to "clutter" your thread Glassman. You do have a good product to offer. Never said you didn't.

Please do not insult my intelligence. Your post was intended to discredit and damage and that's it. Sharing your experiences?? What experience? You have never even used my seals so your experience amounts to hearsay and bs.

A summary of your post; seals are going to damage your engine, a huge rip off, people don't need them. Good product, never said you didn't.....my ***
I didn't open this can of worms..you did.

Now are we finally done here???

I can relate with erniet, I've said some things in the past (When I had a drinking problem). After you realize what you've said and delete it, it's just too late.

I read what erniet said and didn't think it was THAT bad. Just spur of the moment running of the mouth, we've all done it right ?

He already said he was sorry, relax dudes

Man i though everyone hated me cause i was a piston guy now

Wow!!! I should check what is going on more often. For the record I never ever said do not use ceramic seals. And ecspecially never bashed the NRS brand as i happen know they do work in high hp applications along with some other seals that i have had good luck with like the Super Seal from Kenny Mercado. I would feel comfortable using either one of these in a race car or street car if i was tuning it.

What i do usually preach to people is get your tune close first, then try a ceramic seal that way if you do make a mistake it wont be to bad.

Hey Sven a question about running the seals in.

What would u recomend for running in the 3mm 1 piece seals in a Turbo engine. The engine might go straight in a engine dyno. With normal steel seals i would run the engine for about 1500 miles before we started dynoing the engine. But since i wont put the engine in the car again before spring, and im planing on having the engine dynoed in february. What would u recomend? We where thinking about strapping it on the dyno and have it rev up and down the range for 6 hours with alittle load on it. Nothing so it would boost but.

Lol, I missed an incredible bitchfest, sorry guys, I have been away for a while.

Glassman, if I used your seals and managed to break one and itwent loose, I know that the motor is gonna be shot, but 2 things I would realize right away would be.

1) It was my fault, not the seals fault.

2) If I was dumb enough to push something that far, I would already have accepted the fact that the motor was eventually gonna blow.

Keep up the good work man, can't wait to buy some seals from you, just gotta blow my motor first.

Ok, after reading trough this thread, i only have one question. How would these perform on used housing? Seeing that they kinda wont wear in like steel ones?

The general Rotary community doesn't hate you for going the piston route. If any of us were in your position we all would have done the same thing. Atleast it's a Mazda piston motor!

Good plan, any run in time you can give them will be good.

I run them on used housings, they work great.

Hey Dee, sorry you got dragged into this. Funny thing is I thought ErnieT was talking about someone else. We sold some seals to a Demetrios in Greece and that's who I thought he was talking about. No wonder it didn't make any sense to me.

I was looking forward to you trying my seals like we talked about before the engine platform change but either way I wish you the best as always

Crispeed, did you mean valve seats?

Maybe some ceramic low friction low wear valve guides would be nice.

Side seals could be very tricky to make in ceramic as they are so thin. I'm not sure it's possible but you know I will be exploring it some time.

I've thought about oil seals in ceramic and I'll be looking at that too. It all depends if they will be cost effective enough.

First 3mm ceramic corner seal test bed established

I am happy to report that we have come to an agreement with Enzo Racing to be the first to test the 3mm ceramic corner seals. Enzo will also be testing our 2pc 3mm apex seals in the same engine. The goal will be to put 50 psi to them both but we will likely progress to that point in increments.

I still have QC to do on the corner seals so they will be ready within 2 weeks time or less.

Likely Gaby will be the second test bed for the corner seals. He too will be testing NRS 2pc 3mm apex seals in the same engine.

Glassman can you get someone to test your selas and corner seals using C16 and pump gas? 50psi will be most likely with alcohol. So the engine internally wont be as hot as to alot of other guys running c16 and pump gas at high boost levels. (28+ psi)

I'm sure we will get some corner seals in this application at some point but I am not at all worried about the addititonal heat....that's where the ceramics shine

Mazda is already ahead of the game on this ... They have the new 16x engine coming and probably nothing of this will fit in there. And we would have to know what they're using for seals in the first place

Glassman ... good to see more updates ... ceramic rotors anyone? lol Seriously glassman with your resources I would build an all ceramic engine. (Housings, sideplate, the lot)

Things can be made to fit. That still doesn't mean that Mazda will use ceramic seals for the new engine either. Mazda (plain and simple) needs to upgrade it's sealing material and leave the old 70's tech in the past.
