electrical ports??? gslse
i know on the gslse backpreasure and the air pump is used to open up 2 more ports after 4000 or so rpm . And i read that the fc's 13b 6port uses just air pumped that is controled electronically to open the ports. The person who owned my car before the guy who i bought it from had wired up a some electrical system after the emmissions were removed and strait pipes were installed so the ports would open without backpressure. the 2nd owner passed the car off to me with no knowledge of anything. "i think he said it had a head gasket leak or piston rings broken "
and anyway is there such a way to do this on a 1st gen 13b? - electronically opening the ports without backpreassure??? thanks

The SEs and S4s open with back pressure, the S5s are controlled electronically, using an air pump to open them is more work than needed and another potential part to fail. I have found a simple, cheap and elegant solution to open them with 10 bucks worth of parts from the local hardware store's plumbing department and a 1/8" NPT tap.
You will find pics on the mod in the following link.

I have done this mod successfully on both the SE and S4 6-port engines. The aux port actuators only need 2.5-3.4 psi to open them. If they are not opening once you install this simple bit of tubing, it may be that the sleeves are carboned up and frozen due to lack of usage.

Hey there, I had the same problem when I bought my 7, did some research and for me electronic activation was the way to go....I followed these instructions http://forum.teamfc3s.org/showthread...electronic+6pi , but made some small modifications. It does cost around $100 so that might be steep, but it's been 100% reliable. With no guess work as to when the ports will open. What you need: Msd RPM switch, 3800 Rpm "pill", a Ford lumbar pump, a relay and the usual electronic connections....I got everything off of ebay FWIW
