Zeroing out Digital Boost Gauges?

Just installed my SPA dual boost/temp gauge. I have very few mods, yet it's reading (spiking?) up to 14psi, which I find hard to believe.

The manual talks about zeroing the gauge, but it is a bit confusing. Anyone got any tips on this, such as when you zero it I presume that's with the engine off? Also, it does averaging and the time frame in which it "averages" can be programmed as well. The default was .4 seconds; does anyone have any ideas on this?

Any help gets the sender an automatic

TIA.

David
