Red face Is your gas lid broken? Mines is.

Well, my fuel door "grabber is stuck." It's the little black plastic stem that goes back and fowarth when you press the remote gas lid. Well, on mines, it goes back into the little chamber to release the gas lid, but it doesn't pop back out on it's own. I have tried spraying penetrating oil onto it, but no luck. The only way to get it back out is to use a REALLY small screw driver to get it. I've started tearing up the trunk panels, but I couldn't get the "Rear hatch upper trim" off, so I called it quits for the day.

Now, do you guys think I need a WHOLE new assembly or do I just need to replace the spring so that the stem will pop back out on it's own?

Does the stopper bracket assembly come with the plastic stem, as well?

I have the same problem, I just keep mine lubricated and just slightly pull the fuel door open.

Mine did the same thing a few years ago. I wd-40'd it and it would help for a little while then start sticking again. The last time it happened the guy at the gas station put some kinda lube on it and I haven't had a problem since. Very embarrasing to be driving down the road checkin out the ladies then realize your fuel door was open, almost like having your zipper down.

Mine does the same thing. I just pull the release lever a few times, close the door a few times, and it eventually fixes itself.

That works too! I just push the release a few times to make sure it is out all the way.

How did you fix it? Also, I've tried pressing it a few times, and all it does is just lodge it in even more.

mine sticks too, very badly when it's cold out. When it's warm, all I have to do is pull the lever almost to the point of the back hatch opening and kinda wiggle it til the catch pops out. In the cold... I usually have to wait like 8 hours til it pops out on its own. :P I've tried WD40, didn't help.
