for you polishers out there
I started polishing parts this weekend. When I came to the elbow that goes to the IC it just wouldnt get shiny. its perty dark. And when I wash it it gets black, I've seen elbows poished, so what should I do? It is starting to get a little lighter but I am already on 400 grit paper. should I go back to like 120, or does the stock elbow just not get shiny?

yea but it wont fit with my Blitz FMIC ( the Greddy elbow ). And yea I tried to polish it, got really pissed now I will probably have to paint it cuz it looks like horse ****.
There are 4 different versions of the GReddy elbow ... the stock intercooler version should fit, if you can find it.
I couldn't believe what I was reading about you trying to polish that thing. Helen Keller could tell you that it's plastic.

I can't believe you've been going add it on a plastic.... That's fucked up. You should just go ahead and buy the GReddy elbow. If you've been grinding it down, you may have problems under boost pressure. I think I'm gonna have bad dreams about stuff like that.

Metal, plastic, wtf is this stuff? I'll polish it anyway!
(Actually, you can "polish" plastics like acrylic with ethelyne (sp?) chloride gas, but that's another story!)

Just please don't resort to using mexican chrome (chrome in a can) on your stock elbow..
OMFG: I thought I was reading wrong and that he was talking about the throtle body. When he said it just keeps getting darker I just about lost my lunch. That is the funniest crap I've read in a long time.

I can't believe you tried to polish plastic.
