Y-Pipe (crossover pipe) Oil Leak

I did a search on this and found out that oil inside these pipes is supposed to be "normal"? How is that? Doesnt that ruin efficiency of the intercooler and entire intake system by reducing airflow? Not to mention the fact oil is being injected into the engine...So I thought it was a huge problem and I am happy to hear that it is "normal". So am I just supposed to replace the rubber couplings with silicone ones and pretend there is no oil there? Or should I clean out the innards and then do that...this engine has only 38,000 miles on it!!

Really depends on how much oil is getting blown into the intake. If its a lot then your turbos should probably be rebuilt, you don't want all that oil getting into the intake, it'll clog up the vacuum system. However it is normal for there to be a film of oil in the intake and in the intercooler, basically the air blowing out of the turbos is going to be oily, but you shouldn't be getting a lot of buildup in the IC.

umm....are you aware that in a rotary engine, oil is being continuously injected in order to lubricate the apex seals? That is the function of the oil metering pump. A rotary is supposed to burn oil as part of the natural operation.

I did know oil was injected into the engine but I didnt know it was by way of the intake system which would seem retarded...anyways, it is a lot of oil so I will take it apart and clean it but today I am going to get a boost test to see if I have the magical 10-8-10
