wtf is goin on??

alright ive got a few questions.

Before i had a vaccum job done, my car had an 8-5-3 boost pattern. It never leaked oil.

Now that my car is back from its hosejob, it gets a 10-0-0-3 pattern. full boost till 4500, none from transition to 6200rpm, then about 2-3 till redline. My gauge is off by 2psi according to the guy who worked on it. And now, it is constantly leaving a considerable amount of oil on my garage floor. It half smells like gas as well.

What do you think happened? He replaced 2 solenoids and one vaccuum chamber. I was thinking maybe a clogged pre-cat/cat is the cuplrit behind the no 2ndary boost, but wtf is up with my oil leak? do you think the guy who worked on my car caused it?

plmk,
ZAch

if it was boosting ok before the hose job, and after the hose job it doesnt boost ok, maybe they screwed up the hose job

Before the hose job, it had 5psi @ transition and 3 till redline.

Afterwards, it drops RIGHT to 0 then holds that till 6200RPMS.

im not too concerned about the boost right now cuz of the impending snowy weather. My main concern is the oil leak. It NEVER leaked before.

What are some things that could leak oil because of an improper replaced/missing seal that would of had to be removed during a hose job? The guy who worked on it said it was the o-ring around the oil filter....but that doesnt make sense cuz i didnt think you'd need to remove that.

lemme know--ur ideas are appreciated
Zach

An easy way to find out if he is full of **** is to pull the filter and see if there is an o-ring still on the filter. Also check your filter housing and oil hard pipe where it conects to the filter housing. I had an oil leak from there once.

why don't u get under the car and look? no one can tell you where the leak is over the phone or internet. the guy could have accidently poked a hole in the filter for all you know.
and if you cat is clogged how can you primary boost? wouldn't it have to go through the clogged cat as well?

i said my boost gauge is off by 2psi. So if its showing 10psi, its most likely around 7.5-8 and FD's need 8psi or more to go into transition (or so im told.) And i'd like to know some common leak points so i can start @ the most likely sources. Clogged cats can lower boost 2-3psi.
