Question WTF Car will not turn off..

93 FD..

I can take they key out..and drive the car..the only things that turn off are radio and vents.

When I do turn off the car (by stalling it) and take the key out..abs light is on, mileage display is on, and I can also turn on lights and turning signals..

A little while before this happened, I sometimes have been having starting issues. Put key in turn it nothing happens, put it in again and it cranks..

Any ideas? Is it the key mechanism itself?

try resetting your computer, unplug the negative on the battery and step on the brake pedal for about 20 sec

Also, I did forget to say it is a LS1 swap..but I figured it wouldn't matter as far as ignition goes.

A mechanic would first ask you if you modified the car any, so never discount the biggest modification of all time.

Anything goes with your setup, but it has to be ignition related.

Good luck

Sounds like an improper wiring connection, or maybe a turbo timer. I've also heard stories of people's ignition switches failing, or needing to be re-soldered.

Who did your wiring?
