WTF??? BUR9EQP price increase???

I flooded my FD last week, pulled the plugs and they were soaked...just in case I decided to call my buddy at the parts dept. and order a set of NGKs expecting the old $7 and change and instead He goes: "they're $15.00 ea"!!!

What happened???? Does this have anything to do with mazda? Are our cars that old????

I ordered the set anyways but I feel like I need some counseling...no lube jailhouse lovin'. what a rip off!

I'm hoping my boy was just messing with me or maybe screwed up.

Options anyone?

Umm, you didn't order plugs from the dealership, did you?

Did you try another store? Pep Boys, Advance, Autozone?

Advance Auto is still $6.99 a plug -

Yeah, the dealership will likely give you counter price, which is HORRIBLY overpriced.

Some of the dealers around here charge even more than retail - I've seen 20% above retail.

I have a whole box of these and the 7's. I think the person who gave you the price listed the higher up quality spark plugs. The 9's arn't the higher ups. These should be about 4-6 dollars depending on where you go. I saw the $15 plugs and they are suppose to be the iridiums or whatever. The person who gave you the price is just trying to get some spiffs at work or something. Trust me, I used to work for Kragen.

^^In that case get the non-platinum. I've never seen much of a longevity difference between the two.

I was pissed cause I always got the EQPs for around 7 bucks. At least its not everyone just this place. I'll find out tomorrow for sure...the dealer might have just updated their price or something. This place was the cheapest and quickest, oh well.

thanx everyone!!!!

O'reilly costed around $5.50 each. The funny thing is you want the trailing plug cause in there system the 9's is for trailing and 7's for leading. I try to correct them but they think I'm crazy.

They're about $8.xx at your local NAPA store.

Nope, I have only found one place that had them in stock and they only had the 2 sets I bought a few years ago. They never stocked them again. I've gone to Napa, pepboys, strauss, etc. Some of them didnt even have them listed. Looked at me like I was crazy...
