I revive this thread because I'm actually looking to change my stock instrument's color to white or blue but I don't know how to do this.

Maybe someone could give me some good advice?

Thanks in advance.

Really? I've tried this stuff with some great sucess.

I'm sure it comes in other colors, but the only color I've used so far is the green.

It's the same process as outlined in this thread. The only difference is the way you remove the bezel. This is self explainitory once you get the cluster out of the dash. If you can't figure out the tabs, you probably shouldn't be doing this yourself anyway. Oh yeah, and there are two screws that hold the stock bezel to the cluster. One to the left of the oil pressure(or boost) gauge and to the right of the speedo. They are large screws and hard to miss, but I've overlooked them before. Just make sre you follow the tabs the whole way around the cluster, though usually you only have to undo the upper or lower half to get the whole bezel off. Do yourself a favor and only work the black tabs. The clear/chrome piece and the large black piece seperate. Unless you're replacing the chrome bezels, it's not worth the extra work of removing them individually.

Thanks for the advice man.

I don't worry about how to do it by myself. I already found white meters on yahoo auctions Japan. I'l try to get another bezel and modify it. It's not really expensive anyway. I also need to find a 300 km/h speedo...

Does anybody knows the voltage of the lights? I'm just wondering about the LED type I need...

It's all 12V. The info for the LEDs used should be in the link above to the original thread.

Has anyone considered putting a light layer of tint (35%?) on the stock gauge covers? A couple benefits:

Would match some defi gauges, with the car off all gauges appear black.

Would maybe look really sharp in the daytime, LEDs lighting up all gauges behind tint.

Having the running lights on drops your coolant fan temp settings.

It'd be suuper easy with some standard tint from any store (walmart, custom car audio place etc).

Anyone do this yet?
