Unhappy WRECKED FD! Need Help getting my $$ back.

This passed weekend, a horrible incident happend. Yes, the community lost another FD. To make it even worse, it was a 95 R2. One of 57 made that year (if those #'s are correct). To make matters worse, I just received a $10,000 sponsorship a year, for 2 years on my car. THIS SUCKS!!

I had a car clip me from behind, and send me into a power pole head on, making some major damage to the vehicle. Now, my insurance doesn't want to give me crap for the car, and I would like everyones help. Is there anything I can use to try and boost the value up? If I bring the value up, it will no longer be a total, and I could get it repaired.

HELP PLEASE!!

It was a 95 R2 with 83,000 miles on it. All Stock.

If it's truly not your fault, then I'm pretty sure you can sue the offending driver for compensation on money that you would have had if you were not hit.

Why is YOUR insurance company bitching. Is there some reason for the insurance company to believe YOU had anything to do with the accident? If not, it is the OTHER GUY's insurance company that should be ante'ing up and at full replacement value.

with that many miles, idk if the insurance company will give you the amount you deserve (they almost never do anyways).

BTW: who was sponsering your car? Perhaps you can build up another one in a hurry (thats quite a bit of money!)

The insurance company will only give me the "market value" of the vehicle. And they have 2 cars that were sold way less then what I feel the car's worth. They told me that they are only liable for market value. Which is even less then blue book in this case!

An insurance company owes you something of "like kind and quality." My dad has been doing auto claims both in the insurance field and on the attorney side for almost 30 years. If they can find you a 95 R2 in the same shape for the money they are offering you, then you are getting what you deserve; however, I doubt they are telling you that. By the way, what companies are you dealing with? i.e. yours and his? Did you both have insurance?

That's complete BS, make damn sure they know your car was an R2 model and not just some PEP or base (no offense, mine is a touring). I challenge them to find a 95 R2 sold recently anywhere locally, maybe in the whole country.. especially at the low ball prices they are probably throwing at you. I would contact an attorney if they don't budge.

Exactly, that's what I was thinking. I think one model was a base model, and one was a touring. They even knocked me for having a manual instead of an automatic. IMO, an manual should be worth more for a sports car.

3isacharm .... Actually it was, what's the story with them?

Unhappy Loss of your vehicle

This a repeat. I had my 510 totally fixed up with balanced and blue printed SSS engine, racing suspension system with chromoli flywheel, BBS 8 & 10 with P7 and list goes on and on invested over $9k...

Needless to say I got that vehicle stolen and was found completely stripped. My insurance company originally told me that 510 would be like less than $2,000. 00 so, I told them, along with photos and receipts I kept, to get me a car just like this one for what you are offering. And after few days, my claim was settled for about $8K. I still lost a lot considering time and rare parts I had, but I got more than what they originally offered.

Wish you luck.

Receipts man, bust out all the receipts. Also, contact your sponsor they can probably help. Lastly, even if they total it, you can still buy it back from them it will just have a salvage title.

How much are they offering you and what is thier basis for establishing market value for your car? If they told you they would settle for "market value" then your in luck, get that in writing. Tell them you would like in writing that they will settle for market value. That alone will probably start to turn things around for you.

For one, there is no way in court they would use the sale of 2 cars that probably are not even the same year or model as yours that were prob bought by a wholesaler (which most ins companies are) as a basis for MARKET VALUE. Two cars does not establish a market value.

What you need to do is get "market value" in writing then work on establishing the true market value. Personally I'd say, fine then we'll play your game and I'd find the 2 highest priced 95's and say then my 2 can also establish market value.

My last piece of advice would be this...get the letter then go straight to a lawyer with it. In reality that is what you need to do. ]

What are they offering you???

Well, my insurance contacted me, and after some words, they are going to go with the R2 model only because of how rare it is. Now, I have to find how much the R2's have gone for latley, even if it's nationwide. If I can't find any R2's, i'll have to go with the R1.

Any one know where I can find out how much they've gone for? A selling history?

Sorry to hear about the crash man. I would quote them on a CYM, that should be worth more, correct me if I'm wrong. As others have stated just stay on them about it, don't let them dick you over. As much as some of us want an FD cheap, I would rather see there prices increase, they're worth a hell of a lot more than what they are selling for.
