Lightbulb Wrapping your loom? you need to use this tape!

Nitto brand self fusing butyl rubber tape.

Google it - you will see the box!

Its the best I have used in my rebuild and my loom re wrap looks great!

Its not sticky, you stretch it then it melds together - somehow - possibly through the use of black magic.

So - go get yourself some!

Cheers, Rusty

I used silicone self-fusing "tape". I'm not certain of all the property differences. Guessing rubber might be a little more tolerant of abrasion, while silicone is more tolerant of heat. IMHO, the latter would be more important under the FD hood.

Yeah, that stuff is good providing you're 100% sure that you wont need to open it up again, most people call it self amalgamating tape, once its set you have to cut it off to make changes.

Is it actual butyl tape? Or does it just use butyl as the adhesion substance? Butyl is a nasty weather sealant, it seems like it would stay on there forever.
