wow... fat *** rx7.....

I weighed my car today..... fully loaded.. (a/c, ps, cats, body kit, rims, about 150lbs. worth of stereo)

With me (160lbs.) in the driver's seat, and a full tank of gas, the car tipped the scales at exactly 3100lbs....

When I take the system out for race day, I'll be at 2850 with driver..... that's frickin heavy...

What do some others weigh?

nope, just fron rear....

i thought they were heavier than that. Everyone told me my car was going to be "so" heavy... because of the 4 subs, amps, 3/4" mdx box, and the wheels and a full body kit.. I don't really feel bad anymore. So that's not too heavy for an fd?

unless they did some weight reduction, i would not believe it when people say their fd weighs less than 2700lbs..

it was Resource and i think it could possibly be possible, we did not really get all of his mods so anything is possible. he did loose the entire rear end (diff/subframe wise)

You can drop 15lpds if you lose the gatewaytothewest wing you have bolted up to your hatch there.

dude they're supposed to have a curb weight of
2800... if you weigh 160.. and your stereo stuff weighs 150, thats 310.

3100 - 310 = 2790

quit trippin

That figure is the recommended maximum weight of the vehicle, passengers, and everything else.

hey kyle... mail them to me again.

By the way:

Who else in slidell has a red fd?

My headlight assemblies were stolen when the car was being repaired. My dad is putting together a list of everyone who has them and checking all the rx7's in the area (cool thing about father being a major crimes detective). Anyway, if you know anyone else that has "new headlights", spread the word that if they took em, they've got one week to email me and return them before my dad starts checking every fd in town. I won't press charges, but i want my damn lights back. After the end of the week, however, it becomes burglary (body shop), and grand theft (over $1000).

Spread that word and help me get my lights back! I know which ones are mine (numbered... white under the red paint, and the brackets are custom... so they won't be able to "shy it off".

Thanks man, and email me those pics again.

Rob.

I said that it would be a sin to have a 3K+ lb FD because that would be a sin. But I think it's pretty hilarious that your car weighed 3100 lbs with you and all that other stuff - that's still less than a Z06 - even with you out of the car with a 1/2 tank gas and keeping all the stereo stuff you'll still weigh in at less than 2900 lbs which is still incredibly light for all that you have done to the car.

according to www.carfolio.com (a very comprehensive site about any car, its quite cool) umm a 93 rx-7 weighs in at 2831lb off the factory floor, and a 98 rx-7 RZ weighs at 2800lb so like yeah it looks as if 2800lb is pretty much the norm hey, and i tell u 1 things thats not very heavy if compared to a toyota supra which weighs in at 3600lb off the factory floor, so yeah the topic should be NO! fat-*** hehe, but damn! what a fine *** it iZ!

it's a friend of mine's shop though. (off the books- so no insurance).

We'll find who took em. There aren't many fd's in the area, so far he's found 15. sorry if they come and search you kyle, but they're going to come out and check every car... He's not a bad guy, just be nice to him.

I'll check around Baton Rouge rjuge. I usually see at least one other FD on campus every day.

my car is a fat *** on my california smog report paper it says my car weighed in at 3125. the guy inside looked to be about 180-200lbs though, so im guessing my car weighs in at 2940 w/o driver. car is a touring w/ ac, ps, bose and spare tire removed.
