I just replaced these because it was convenient but don't know if these would be considered fouled...the two lighter coloured ones are the ones with the blue rings around the top.

 

 

I don't know about fouled, but those plugs might indicate that you're running a bit on the lean side.

Thats not the best pic I have seen but they do look a little lean on the left 2 and rich on the right 2. Can't really tell though because of the poor lighting in the pic. I do believe that they are fouled if the electrode in the middle is rounded off.

A little plug history...

Got the car 8 months ago and they were never changed...within those 8 months I have added Intake, DP...

within the last 4 times the car has been driven (with the last month) I have added PFC and RB Dual CB...

yeah, 2 left look lean and 2 right look rich. I would not worry about the rich ones too much but you need to fix the lean side.

 

so elaborate a bit...please...fix the lean side? that would mean that the two plugs with the rings on the top are running lean...I know what running lean mean (not enough fuel) how would I fix that? with the PFC? I guess this is where wideband tuning comes in right...I probably wont be able to get to RP before February so is there something that I can do to make the sittuation better?

 

How much boost are you running? I'll assume the two plugs that have been running lean are the leading plugs. If you're running higher than stock boost try running 9's in both the leading and trailing.

 

After the DP and the intake I was hitting 11.5 - 9 - 10...when I installed the PFC (two joy rides ago) I was able to lower it to 10- 8 - 10.5...

so do you mean try running 9-8-9? is this what you mean?

 

No, 9 is the heat range of the plugs. Stock, the car runs 7's in the Leading and 9's in the trailing. By running 9's in the Leading as well, you're producing less heat.

 

So is this something that is done through the PFC? is there anyone who can tell me what to do or point me in the right direction?

Each spark plug has a heat range. It is the distance between the center electode and the ground. The hotter the plug, the smaller the gap. By using the 9 heat range plugs you're creating less heat. You need to replace the plugs and use ALL Trailing plugs.

 

Those plugs don't look like they are running too lean - the black ones look slghtly rich - I assume they are the Leading Plugs and the lighter ones the Trailing - If so the color is OK.
BUT ALL of them are WORN OUT - The electrodes should have a sharp cornered flat end, NOT rounded off like in the pic.
Unless you are running over 12psi boost constantly or Road Racing w/ lots of Max RPM operation, you should be running 7&9s not all 9s, the leading plugs will foul quickly if you do.

 

The distance from the center electrode to the ground (side) electrode is the GAP and has NO relation to the HEAT Range- The heat range is determined by the length of the CERAMIC INSULATOR, the LONGER the Insulator the Higher The Heat Range. A longer insulator conducts LESS Heat away from the combustion chamber causing the plug to run HOTTER. a short insulator does just the opposite and causes the plug to run cooler
