would this be possible?
Hey guys I have a weird question for you mechanically inclined..
I realize the FD is a monocoque/unibody chassis, but if one were to unbolt the front and rear suspensions and sub frames along with the PPF, driveline, diff, engine and trans. could you conceivably end up with a rolling maybe even running ( non-op of course as it wouldn't be rigid enough and there would be no floor) chassis separate from the body shell? I don't think I have ever seen anyone ever do this before and was wondering if this would even be possible. That way one could have the shell worked on separately while cleaning up and modifying the rest of the chassis thus making everything easier to access for bolt-ons, re-engineering projects, etc...

mobeoner I'm only pondering this because I want to send the shell off to be worked on separately while I go over the mechanicals. I thought it would be easier and neater if all the mechanicals were intact so as I could attack them section by section instead of having everything spread out all over the place or in boxes although fantasies of jigging up a tube frame around the chassis and connected to the attachment points comes to mind....
