would like opinions about this.

I've put my FD in my garage for the winter. I've already started to screw things off and then i found all the oil in my intake pipes.

Most of the oil u can see in this pic.

Im alittle worried that my turbos are dying on me.

what do you think? Is this kind of oil puddle normal?

My car has 51k original miles.

wow. thats quite a bit. my ic pipes with 120k miles on the original turbo is clean. some light residue on the walls, but nothing like that. your turbos might not be gone, but that is a bit of oil.

oil in intake pipes

If your turbos are not making abnormal noises, are putting out sufficient boost and are not leaking oil from the *exterior* of the assembly, I would not be real concerned. I see a moderate amount of oil in my intake pipes and my turbos are nearly new. Previous turbos, when they failed, leaked oil directly to the outside, all over the exhaust manifold side of engine.

A friend of mine also had alot of oil in his pipes, not an FD, it's an Ford Escort cossie, His car has 500HK and the engine is new with a new turbo. It's a very big turbo so im guessing that's why he's got much oil also, but still

If you corner hard it can come from the oil filler neck through the PCV valve. I have -some- oil in my intake as well. Haven't seen pools yet. How long since you last cleaned it out? Time is important as it will build up.

Another theory could be the pipe (or should i say tube?) has grooves in it that i think makes the oil stay in it.
