connect them in parallel and you'll have 12V but with double the capacity

You should see 12V if you wire them in parallel.

I really don't understand the point of two lightweight batteries, unless you plan on removing the stereo system and second battery for racing. 11 + 11 = 22lbs , not to mention that the added weight in the form of wiring and a tray for the second battery. Look into the Optima 51R , that seems like it would be a good solution for you.

Well The Bralle Batt Is Like 11.5 Lbs And I Wanted One In The Engine Cap, And One In The Bin To Run My Stereo, Im Sure With The Lil Bat Its Good For The Assessory's And Car But Not Enough For A 500w System So Thats Why I Was Thinkng Of Running 2, Even If I Ran To I Would No Way Near 40lbs Like The Oem

When using two batteries, the alternator might not charge them both. You might need to install a 'battery manager' ; ask someone from a car stereo shop.

As I said already, take a look at the Optima 51R size, it's a nice in-between size: bigger than an 11lb battery, and smaller and lighter than the stock battery. What are the RMS specs of the 500w amp? What size fuse does it use (30A, 20A, etc...)?
