is this worth doing to my SMIC?

i have the greddy SMIC and i was thinking of making it into a FMIC. my reasons are:
1- it'll not block the whole front bumper area which means that i can still run my stock radiator and not have any problems with over heating or not getting enough air to it.
2- cheaper than buying a FMIC.
3- i don't think i need an FMIC for upgraded twins ( or a 450whp single turbo).
is this a total waste of time and money? if so, please explain why.

I had a FMIC with stock radiator and had no problems with cooling. I replaced my radiator because I was scared of the stock end tanks cracking from heat.

Well, it'll look kinda funny in the mouth of the car . Also, the custom piping might be pretty expensive. Everyone I've talked to that has tried a FMIC at their home/in their garage has said it's a nightmare.

GoodfellaFD3S is right...It would be interesting to see what the plumbing would look like if you did that.

It would be very hard to do with the Greddy SMIC. The way the inlet and outlet are on the Greddy unit would require you to be very creative to make it work. It would be feasible to try with the M2 or CWR IC's, but not with the Greddy SMIC.

I'd imagine with the added plumbing that the IC wasn't designed to be used with, that pressure drop would be a total *****, not to mention a little more lag.
