Time to upgrade my front sway bar. The first two pics show the inside front almost in the air!

I think I'd get some springs first. And Are those Konis adustable?

Yes the Konis are adjustable and the fronts are on full hard. Unfortunately only the stock springs are legal in Super Stock.

Remember a shock will never differ body roll anyways; it effects the rate at which weight is transfered, not the total. So stiff shocks are soft shocks= same amount of body roll. Springs and bars are only way to fight it.

alright, just what i wanted to know...super stock class. what is the limit on mods that i can do. i want to stay in this class cause there is a fellow RX7 guy running the same and i would love to kick his butt(in a friendly way of course). i just got an m2 DP, koyo radiator, boost gauge, water temp gauge, and turbo timer. i dont think that any of those will take me out of class will they??? what are the limits though. can i put an ECU in(pettit, PFC), exhaust, intake, mp. i saw that you noted no extra springs so i will stay away from those till next season, but lend me a hand in trying to tell me what i can and cant have. and brakes, what can i do there.

You are already illegal for Super Stock. ONLY allowable mods are shocks, catback, front sway bar and race tires. That's it.

The exhaust is "free" from the factory cat back, so you can run a straight pipe if you wish. I see some people with other cars just remove the exhaust from the catback on race day.

You must run stock size wheels with an offset within 1/4" of factory. You must run stock ride height even if your shocks allow it to be changed.

Things like gauges and body kits are legal, but only allowable engine and suspension mods are listed above. Small things like brand of air filter, brake pads, plug wires etc are open. Have to run stock brake rotors though; no slotted or drilled.

Must run stock bushings and suspension alignment must be within factory adjustment; no camber plates, crash bolts or enlargement of holes for more adjustment. The third gen is fine here because you can get up to 2 degrees negative all the way around without suspension modification.

I am already illegal with the downpipe, Pettit rear toe links and AST, but nobody has protested thus far.

Upgraded radiator is illegal, ecu mods illegal, aftermarket AST illegal (don't know why, but it is), intake is illegal, different springs are illegal.

Your radiator alone will put you in Street Mod because even ASP requires the factory radiator.

I'm interested in autocross. What class would I fall in, would it be ASP or do they have a higher class that I would fall in. Do they have a dumbass bigginer class so i wouldnt be racing against seasoned vets??? I'm sure most people in the real modded classes have been autoxing for years and will make me look like a dumb ***. Hopefully they have some kind of beginner class so you can get use to autox racing.

So what class you think I'd be? My mods are......

BNR Supercars intake
BNR Supercars IC
full exhaust
upgraded secondary inj
upgraded fuel pump
Power FC
15psi of boost
Eibach progressive rate springs (prob crap for autox)
Pettit trailing arms
Pettit toe links
front anti sway bar
front tower strut brace
short throw shifter
removed air pump and other emmissions crap
stock wheels and tire size
stock radiator

I think thats it or at least all I can think of right now

Later,
STEPHEN

With your list of mods, I believe you'll be fine in ASP class. The only thing that you'll need to change is that you will have tune the Power FC back to 12 psi.

Turbocharger and supercharger systems may only be updated/backdated with the accompanying engine unit. No changes are allowed to waste gates, pressure sensors or their location, and to other turbocharger or supercharger boost limiting systems. This allowance does not permit changes to blow-off (pop-off) valves. Devices known as "fuel cut defensers", and any modifications which alter or defeat the fuel cutoff when it is activated by boost level, are not permitted.

I think the BOV line is ridiculous, but I've also heard this numerous times and that the stock boost pressure cannot be altered. Also, if you went non-sequential, that is also prohibited in Street Prepared.

But, tires and wheels are completely open. So are struts, which I'm going to assume you've already done by the looks of your list of mods. Anyhow, have fun.

I don't have the rules in front of me but again the PFC will bump you into street mod. I don't believe ASP allows aftermarket computers, even if they have "stock" settings.

All that said don't forget that what numbers are on the side of your car has no effect on how fast you can go. Get classed properly and work on improving your own times. It is fun to have friends in the same class you that you may have grudge matches, but again when you're on track it's just you and the car. Nothing else counts or matters.

Most clubs have novice classes so you can compete with people on your same level; I ran novice last year. Basically all novices regardless of car driven were in the same class and a handicap was then applied to every car based on performance potential. Since I had an RX-7 I had a huge handicap to overcome compared to someone in a Civic for instance. It was not enough to just be faster, I had to be a lot faster to overcome the handicap. I finished third to an Integra Type R and an STS Civic. Both cars were well driven and I think things shook out as they should have. My raw times were always faster, but not enough faster. We typically bumped eachother around by tenths of seconds once the handicap was applied.
