Unhappy Won't start

I drive my 93 VR RX-7 one week / month....the rest of the time I drive my 90 Miata (Classic Red).

This morning I got in and turned the key...everything lit up, but no cranking.....just dead silence. The battery is fine, but the starter didn't kick in.

Any suggestions????

Just curious, how do you know the battery is fine?

I had the same problem. Lights and everything worked, but the car wouldn't start. The battery didn't have juice to start the car, but it could power the lights and radio...

hit the key several times. My car often does this, it won't do anything with the first (or 2nd or 3rd or 4th) turn of the key, but if you bam-bam-bam turn it, it fires right up. A lot of people have reported having this problem, by the way.
Just go out and turn the key over several times, very quickly.

Tried the multiple key thing.....

Decided to put a trickle charge overnight before I use jumpers.

I think my RX-7 mechanic did something a while back (last year) with the relay to fix that.

Its possible that your engine is flooded. Try these two things...

First disconnect the battery and then hold down the brake for 30 seconds to kinda reset your car.

After you do this, go under your hood and take out the fuel pump replay fuse (near the radiator) and go inside the car to the fuse box near the clutch and take out out the fuel pump fuse. Now try to start the car.

That is the problem mine was having, something very similar, and it worked for me.

Good luck.

Yeah! I experienced the same thing!
Try check your Battary, and the dystarter, if doesn't have any sound.

(If the engine is flooded by oil, they'll have to be some starting sound isn't it. No offence but I'm just curious)

Guess What?

My stock Security alarm circuit Board was bad! It was activating the ignition kill switch module.

Cost for a new Board about $215
