wont rev above 4500
I have a 94 BB base auto with no mods other than a 5ziegen cat back. The problem is when it starts cold it smokes badly wreaking of gas, idle is inconsistent, burns through gas at an astounding rate, revs smoothly until I get into the secondarys, then bogs down. once warm it will rev to about 6000 and hold(intermittently, most times it wont) New plugs, wires. Checked vacuum- about 13 in Hg, but will drop to 3in Hg when revved (intercooler pipe disconnected as to assess leaks)Runs the same with or without turbos connected. Bypassed fuel pressure regulator solenoid, no change. Each rotor has about 100 psi on piston tester(yes with valve removed.) Looked all over FAQ (including nopistons) and I have seen other threads of this nature but they never seemed to be resolved. Looks like original pre-cat, could it be clogged? Or is there something I am missing? Sorry guys, I bought it like this! It was a great price on my dream car-other than the stupid auto. Any help would be appreciated. Thank in advance, Brett.

Bought it running like this thinking I can fix anything, even rebuilt an FC, but it is showing me how it takes care of the proud who take on the mighty FD. Will take off the pre-cat tomorrow. As far as electrical, any starting points other than the ECU??? P.S. I HATE ELECTRICAL!!!!

check your injectors... may be clogged or stuck open/closed. how long was the car sitting before you bought it? make sure your MAP sensor hose isn't cracked and is pushed on all the way. and get rid of that pointless precat LoL. i have a brand new stainless downpipe i will sell u for $50 + shipping if you are interested
