won't go into reverse.

Ok took the car out for a joyride and everything worked fine, until I pulled it out if the driveway. The car won't go into reverse at all. Like it seems the fork got jammed. Before this even never had a problem with any tranny difficulties. Rarely dre the car either. Could I need a new tranny already. Could someone please guide me in the right direction. Also look into the search forums and nothing comes up.

Does it shift into the other gears with the engine running?

Does it shift into reverse with the car NOT running?

How far off the floor does the clutch pedal engage?

Maybe the reverse interlock is jamming up if you are still able to shift into the other gears.

When the car is driving all the gears engaged besides reverse. When the cars is off it won't engaged into reverse. If I can remember like normal. I'm so confused at the moment.

Does 5th gear work? 5th gear syncro commonly fails and 5th and reverse share the same syncro.

If this problem started without you beating on the car there is a good possibility it is something simple. It might be a good idea to remove the shifter to see if there is any obvious damage in the mechanism.

The 5th gear worked ok. It will kinda grind in gear when you you don't engage it right. Maybe it could be the syncro.
