wiring harness questions

Will a j-spec wiring harness work for a US spec motor? I really need to replace mine and it seems like that might be a good option. My car is dead because of a wiring problem and the harness is the best place to start.

thanks in advance.

It really depends on the year and whether or not you want to keep your emissions equipment. The ECU's changed through out the life of the model and there in the wiring harness evolved as well. If you can be for certain, and I am talking 100%, you could get a pre 96 jspec wiring harness to fit on your 8 bit ECU. It might not come with all the emissions attachments plugs and you will have to do some chopping in certain places, but I thing you could get it to fit. You will not be able to get a wiring harness newer then 96 to fit because of the ECU changes that were put on the newer jspec cars.
