wiring harness question
The wire connecting to my alternator is failing, in that the wire is breaking at the connector itself. My question is whether or not i can just buy a connector with a bit of wire from an auto parts store and solder the two wires together to replace the connection or if i need to pull it off another harness. Its on a 93. If just buying a generic connector and wire is possible, if someone could let me know what type and size that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, here is a picture of the connector I am talking about. Sorry if the picture is a little messed up, it was taken on my phone.

Easy fix....cut off ( remove battery negative FIRST ) the two wires with connector back about 5". Bring connector with wires to work bench. Dismantle the connector and remove the two wires/terminals. Pry the terminals apart carefully and remove defective wires. Install and solder new wires. Re-install wires in their exact home terminal. Splice in new repaired wires to engine harness and wrap with tape. Go back to couch and watch Jack Bauer on "24" kick some serious terrorist ***... !
