Wiring electric fans question

Hey guys,

I did a lot of reading on the forum, but before hacking up my stock harness I wanted to check if my plan are the correct way to wire up a pair of single speed electric fans. I'm currently running a v-mount setup, with no AC and a PFC.

Here is what I've come to find on the forums:

Basically I'm planning to use the power and ground wires off Relays 2 and 4, and run those directly to the fans. I realize I will only have one fan setting, and the PFC will be the way I adjust the water temp that will trigger the fans to turn on/off. I realize there will also not be any after cooling.

Is there a better way to run the fans?

Thanks

If you are doing 2 single speed fans I think you are heading the right direction. It may be worth wiring one to the PFC's output and 1 to the thermos witch output. That way you have 1 fan come on at, say, 85 degrees, configured with the Datalogit, then the second fan comes on at 97 degrees if you use the FC fan switch.

That would stage the fans a bit. If the one fan is just not enough and temps keep creeping up you could wire them as you said where they both come on at 85 or whatever. Probably have to wait for summer to really test it out though.

Thanks Dale - I kept it simple and wired one fan to each of the two PFC controlled relays. Once I get the car running I'll either adjust the temp in the PFC or wire one of the fans to an FC thermoswitch.
