Winshield and Windows Renewal?
'93 fd with 103,000 miles, but the winshield and windows look like they've been around a lot longer. Anyone had any luck bringing windows/windshields back to life?
They had tint on them at one time and it was removed, that might be part of it, but they also seem to be just dull and dirty looking even after cleaning.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Phil

I have the same problem with my FD with only 63k miles. I even used the clay bar on the windshield yesterday but during a drive at dusk I practically could not see as the windshield is so pitted.
Is there some compound we can use to fill in the pits?

I looked into this issue on an antique car I own. Some glass shops have the ability to polish out the flaws, but as Bill suggested, if it's very deep at all, the optics of the glass is affected. In my case on the old car, they flatly refused to do it because of liability issues.

I've Tried . . .
So far, I've done the Bon Ami scrub -- definitely some progress.
Did the Viengar/steel wool scour -- also some progress
Tried the lime scale remover/steel wool -- maybe some improvement.
I think I will just keep going over the winshield with both the Bon Ami and the
vinegar. Then we'll see if each pass makes a progressive improvement.
Thanks for the ideas.
