Windshield trim

Just washed the car a few days ago and noticed that I have a tiny bit of paint bubbling up under a portion of the windshield trim. The rust is something I can easily deal with, and I'm not terribly worried about it. I am wondering about the trim around the windshield however. On my car, the trim was always a little raised in that spot, but I never messed with it. After noticing the bubbles, I played around with it a little. It seems that it is easily removed, and I'm not completely sure if it should be.

Does anyone know if the trim should be glued in place, or does it merely snap in?

It is supposed to be glued in place.

Anyone ever install one on their own? I wonder if I should just have someone come and remove the windshield and then reinstall it once I have the rust fixed..
