Window switch

I have been looking at the diffrences mazda made from 93 to 94 in the 7's and I noticed an automatic window switch (drivers side only) was one of the changes. I was wondering if the automatic part of the switch was built into the switch or is it an external part? I would think it is part of the switch but I did not want to go order one and have it be an external part. So I guess the question would be if I switched the switch out will I then have an automatic drivers window?
Thanks,
-Philip

We have the '94 switch in our '93 and it works fine. The automatic down works.

Is it just 'plug and play'? Are the electronics built into the switch itself?

yes, it's 100% plug-and-play. the switch stays pressed down til the window is all the way down, then the switch pops back into "neutral".

i found out about this when i ordered a window switch for my '93 from Ray Crowe. he told me he was sending me one for a '94, since it was the same price but also had the auto-down feature.

I took apart my 94 switch and there's actually these little metal magnet like things above the actual sensor contact. once engaged, it lightly holds the sensor in place while the switch bounce back in place.

+1, yes, it'll be plug-n-play

They are soo expensive or i would replace mine right away. I took out the plastic all together because it broke in my '93. I only use the circuit board thing and that works, but theres a big hole in my drivers side door. couple questions..

1) Isn't the '94 switch a different texture?

2) I had an auto down in my '93...?

3) How much is Ray selling them for?

thanks,
randy
