will 1st or 2nd gen trans work on 3rd gen

just wondering i got a 84 or 86 rx7 in a junkyard just wondering if it will fit in his 3rd gen rx7

The first & second gen trannys work with a normal clutch. The 3rd gen works with a pull type clutch. I'm pretty sure neither of those trannys will work in a 3rd gen.

No.

A T2 tranny will work if you switch extension housings so you can bolt to the powerplant frame.
