wierd engine noise an 6-7rpms

i just put an exhaust on my exhaust (downpipe back) car. in 3rd and 4th gear is seems to bog out for a second, can anybody help? i don't know a great deal about these engines, and i live in fairbanks alaska. there's not too many places to go to. thanx for any information

misprint, i feel like an idiot. it's late, i just put an exhaust on my car; not i just put an exhaust on my exhaust car. also it only does it at 6-7rpm's

So, you basically replaced the main cat with a straight pipe and put a cat-back on? Do you still have the stock ECU?

sounds like good ole boost creep. adding a midpipe without an aftermarket ecu or boost control will do that. the ecu sees anything above 10psi after a certain rpm and it cuts fuel so you can't accelerate anymore. it will cause damage if you let it go long enough. there are a couple options. you can take the midpipe off and replace it with the stock piece or get an aftermarket ecu. or you can learn like i did and do a motor swap within a few months of owning the car
