Wierd coolant leak

Hi Everyone:

I have a strange coolant leak. It only occurs when the car's cold and/or the 1st 5 mins after startup. I traced the drip and it seems that its dripping down the OMP wires and around here (see pic). A buddy of mine thinks that it might be the water pump, but I was wondering if I should replace the whole thing (water pump) or just the gasket?

how many miles on engine/water pump? it's never a bad idea to change the water pump, if you're due for maintenance on replacing the pump just change it for peace of mind.

I'm the second owner so I'm not entirely sure. I'm assuming that its the original one...so 52K miles.

Sounds good. Would you guys recommend getting a used water pump? or a reman? (Obviously i'll get a new gasket for it).

Get a new one from Malloy Mazda (Ray Crowe). 888-533-3400. Great prices and quick response/shipping. He really knows these cars.
