Widest tires you can fit of the FD?

I was wondering what's the widest tires you can fit under the FD without rubbing..
And who makes rear fender flares and wider body kits to fit bigger tires?

im currently running 285's and i could still go alot wider. but my tires do not fit within the fenders though, they stick out about 2 cm's. i wanted my offset this way though because im getting re amemiya fender flares. alot of companies make widebody kits but the flares that are reasonably priced are available from mazdaspeed and re amemiya

i ran 295/30 19's on the rear with 19x10 racing hart c2's....+.50 offset. could go wider, but like 1bad7 said, you'll need some flares..................i currently have 275/35-zr18's on the rear, they are so-3 pole positions...the 285/30's were fine, no fender protrusion...

i had 245-45-16 up front, that was pushing it. now i have 275-30-17 out back. it looks great just sitting a little outside the fender, gives it that true roadster look. no rub with the stiff r1 shocks.

yea, like everyone else is saying it all depends on whether or not you want to stay within the fenders or not. i didnt want to so thats why i went with 285/30/18 rubber and a +18 offset, ive got plenty of room between the shock and the rim... almost 4 cm's. but now the widest i think u can reasonably go without protruding would be 285 with a proper offset of about +45 if i remember correctly, unless ur running an aftermarket shock and spring of course. hope that helps

oh and the rims are 9.5" wide

The widest I know of without using fender flares or a widebody kit is 315 in the back and 285 in the front. To do this you will need narrow spring coilovers for the front, and in the rear, narrow spring coilovers and M2 trailing arms, plus the correct offset.

Real quick: what is the widest you can go on the stockers? 245s? I need new tires soon and 225s look a little to tiny for me

TIA -Dan

245/45-16 will work with the 8-inch wide stockers...

Rajeev,

Where did you find a 275/30-17 size? You sure you don't mean 275/35-17, or a 275/30-18?

Yokohama used to make 275/35-17s in the AVS Intermediates, but they aren't available anymore??

Question with 17's

I thought with 17's that 275 35(?) was the largest that would fit under the rim. I'm not interested in going outside the fender or running larger than 17 inch rim (hey, it's just me).
