Widefoot Racing Swaybar mounts installed!

Very easy install. I think it took me about 30 minutes. I didn't have any "problems" per se. However, the thread depths for the sway bar bushing bolts were different for each mount. I ended up having to use three washers on one side and one washer on the other.

Driver's side

Passenger's side

Both

Pardon the blurriness, I couldn't exactly get the depth and detail while crawling under the car like that.

These are the "cast" versions. $195, courtesy of the late group buy put on by Widefoot Racing (David Breslau). The billet versions cost ~$100 more.

Hi FDeez,
Glad you got the mounts in so quickly. The likely reason you had some variation in
the depth of the 8mm holes is that the machine shop that did the final drilling on
the cast parts didn't get the hole depth absolutely uniform, so while the 8mm x 12mm
long helicoils all fit properly, the remaining "dead" space might be too short for the
25mm bolts I supply with the kit (one reason I supply extra washers). This is one of
the reasons I'm taking all mount machining back "in house".

In your case, since you didn't need the radiator support plates, that made the bolts
go in an extra 3mm, explaining why you had to put the plates in anyway.

My sincere apologies for this, I'll send you a package of 8mm by 20mm bolts to
replace the 25's, which will allow you to use one washer per bolt, and remove the
radiator support plates. They'll go out Monday.

Widefoot Swaybar Mount pricing

Hi XSTransAm,
The Group Buy had pricing for the cast mounts of $195, the new billet versions (a
redesign to take advantage of a material change to 7075-T651 alloy) were priced
at $280 for the set. For a limited time (a month or so) I'll honor GB pricing for anyone
who mentions the GB when they get in touch.

Thanks,
David Breslau

Hi cmartinp28,
There's two cast mounts (or billet mounts depending on the kit), two side clamps,
two radiator support plate, and then all the hardware and washers needed for
installation.

Thanks,

fdeez,

in your first picture, the support plate looks to be on the inside of the support metal. If I remember correctly, when I installed mine. THat should go on the outside.

Or is it just the picture?

Thank you for the responses David. Your product support is unparalleled. I really appreciate that.

7racer, it's the photo. That flap "over" the mount is part of the fenderliner or duct that got a little in the way of the picture.

Those are very nice mounts and I wish I would have seen this group buy earlier. I just bought the AWR racing mounts (another nice product), but they lack the extra support of the widefoot mounts.

Thanks for the compliment, afterburn27. The important thing is that you got better
swaybar mounts, which will reduce the risk of damage to the chassis due to flexing,
and perhaps to the whole car if there's a problem during hard cornering. Now, of
course I would have suggested the Widefoot's.

Almost all Widefoot sales have come from "word of mouth", as I don't have a real
web presence yet (something I'm working on). So it's not a surprise that many
people only find out about them by chance. I'll try to fix that...

I also have the large Widefoot throttle pedal. That is definitely another great product from David Breslau!
