Why would ABS be Disabled?

Alright a little background, my 93 JDM FD has had the ABS light in the dash on as soon as the car moves. So I pulled all the tires visually inspected the sensors, everything good. Measured the resistance all 4 well with in spec. No fuses blown, well I open that little black box on the ABS valve/motor and the ABS motor relay is gone.
So my question to any of you FD'rs that might have an idea why someone would want to basically disable the ABS.
I am thinking that maybe the car was drifted? but seeing as I have not done anything on any track and my knowledge is very limited.

Thanks
Mike

Some people may not like the way it feels in general, and there are claims that ABS may sometimes increase stopping distances in dirt or snow.

so you can heat up the rears in a burn out to get ready for the 1320.

Alright still seems like a bad idea, I got a new relay so I will see if that fixes it

So is ABS disabled? or do you just have the warning light on? IOW have you tested it by trying to lock up the brakes?

My ABS light came on when my alternator failed. As the battery ran down the voltage dropped to a level that triggered the ABS light.

Your doing the right thing. For a street car, ABS is a good thing and no need to delete. Someone likely got a little F&F and thought they were Bryan Spilner.

I did not have any ABS, my alt is in good shape I have tested it. I figured while I was taking the half cage out to eliminate some squeaks and rattles i would check the ABS brain in the back. The relay for it was unhooked as well. So after we got all that fixed and back together took her for a rip and everything is working like it should. No more light, and the little bit of braking I did seemed a lot better.

I still want to smack the guy that did all this to this car though
