Cool. I love the stuff. You shouldn't have any problem with electrolysis then. It has been suggested to me that instead of running a 0 pressure cap, just get like a 7 LB cap. This way water won't find it's way into your cooling system from the outside environment and you will still get the benefits of reduced pressure in extending the life of your hoses etc. Water is the big culprit in electrolysis I believe.

Getting back to posting voltmeter test with radioshack digital multimeter and ph and glycol test with lithmus paper combo at 58C as read on the PFC commander.

Coolant (prestone) initially 50/50 is from 11/23/04 (thats 28 months old) w/6-8oz Water Wetter and city tap water. 14,000 miles gets topped off with tap water mostly. Geez thats a long time with no coolant issues.

AC volts didn't register any significant voltage.
DC volts 2.1V but varied at different temps one reading of 2.9V at 24C and 1.5V at 9C.

glycol between 33 and 40%, ph at about 7 but on the basic side. Its a 15 & 30 sec dip and compare test. brand name is cooltrak www.etsstrips.com

Anybody else have any voltmeter readings to post?

radiator is all aluminum.

I'm going to try turning on the accessories and note difference as described in the radiator electolysis test that someone googled earlier. I can't recall if my car doors and accessories were turned on.

Had my coolant changed while having some work done at the shop a month ago and 1200-1500 miles. They forgot to use distilled water. Alright no big deal since I hadn't used it in the past, and I am interested in the test reading as an indicator to change coolant.

Tested the coolant, about 33% glycol and a pH close to 8 at 14C. Voltmeter readings 0.3V no accessories 0.25V with accessories.

Comparing the previous figures, note the drop in volts from 2.9v to 0.3v. Much closer to the recommended 0.1V.

The only signs of aluminum decay was on the radiator in and out under the pipe clamp back on 11/23/04. no further external signs of electrolysis.
