Why isn't every FD owner a member on this site?

Take a look through the posts on any given day and you will see misinformation being spread as if it were the gospel. There are some nuggets of information buried in the forum, but like gold...you have to dig for it among the muck of wrong information, flames and "I'm drunk" posts.
I find time is usually better spent with the FSM to troubleshoot rather than on the forum. Not always, but most of the time.
Another frustration are the times folks ask for advice and I spend the time to give a good detailed procedure or explanation and it is wasted. Sometimes they give up on the work. Sometimes they are too lazy. Maybe sometimes they are afraid to work on the cars. I was there at one point.
Then there is the epidemic of lack of courtesy on the forum. Its all good fun to rib a poster a little, but cowardly flaming is way to prevalent. No way would these folks treat each other in person the way they bash others on the forum.
Time is an issue too. Today is one of the rare occasions that I have a little time to browse and post.
I think you will find many track guys do not spend time here. They are tuning and prepping their cars.
The forum has incredible potential that needs to be honed and focused.
Now that I have my Datalogit (thanks to Santa...my wife) I hope to spend a little more time online as I tune my car.
Peace.
