Why isn't every FD owner a member on this site?

Really. Think about it. Our cars have a unique engine and lots of complicated parts like the sequential turbo system and they're not exactly the most reliable cars around. i would think that just about every fd owner would be on this site either looking up technical info or stuff about mods.

im sure nearly every owner has come across the site at on time or another they might not be members but im sure they've heard of it

Actually I did meet a first gen 7 owner who had never even heard of this site the other day. Probably since he never really looked under the hood either :P

yeah, i can understand if you have a civic or something but this is an fd and admit it, parts fail all the time. it's not about being cool or 21st century with the internet...but knowing more about your car so you can enjoy it more. im still a noob but im learning more here everyday

yeah, I got mates who run their own rotary performance shops and they still tell me to stay the f**k away from these types of forums, but then again I think its because most of them feel it in the pocket when most of their customers go online to get info , fair enough i suppose, but then again I aint paying anybody a shitload of $$$ to do what I can do myself.

I think really a lot of sports car owners weither it be for the Rotary or not, just dont know about it, or havent run into any problems, therefor no reason to look as of yet of course.

I had my car for about a year and a half before finding this site. I used Rob Robinette's(sp?) and Scuderiani's websites for info, but this site has soooo much more information. I don't know how I manged before.

I hate it when people don't give a **** what they drive. They're like ''as long as it gets me from here to there, it's all that matters''. It pisses me off even MORE when it's an ignorant *****, teenager that doesn't know **** about his awsome car and treats it like crap. Makes me want to buy it from them, but they still insist they don't want to sell it. FOCKER! I'll KILL you and STEAL your FD! Learn to respect the rotary or get ready for some *** kicking!

Had to vent.

A couple weeks ago when several of us met up for lunch, a guy walked over to us and was looking at our cars. Noticing he had a red FD in nice shape, we were thinking he was a member of this board. Turns out he had never heard of this board, and had no clue who we were or that we had planned the meet. Totally random coincidence. He was about 50, and said he bought his car new, it had less than 30k original miles, and was completely stock. How often has anyone seen all of THAT??

I will tell ya that a lot of the shop owners don't have the time to post. I know when I was at the shop full time I never had the time or energy to post......

I suspect that most Rx7 owners don't know about this site. I didn't find out about it until I had my FD nearly a year, and that was two years ago. I had an FB for many years prior to that. Someone at Sevenstock mentioned it to me.

I bought my car from some old dude that bought it brand new in 92. The car only had 17,xxx miles on it when I got it. 17,746 to be exact, and it was completely stock.

I found this site before I bought my FD. It's awesome. I can't really comment on the accuracy of the information in the forums (like some say the rotary mechanics tell you to steer clear of them) but I can say this - what are the chances of all of yous being dumbasses? Not Likely. And even if someone posts misleading information, is seems to always spark an insightful debate. I spend (thats right spend not waste) a lot of time at work browing through the threads on this forum.

I'm currently halfway through a boost / water temp gauge install and fan mod. ALL done with information sourced from this site or from links posted on this site.

Fan-bloody tastic if you ask me.

Merry Christmas to all

when alot of new guys post here about something, they get flamed, even over silly things. that is why alot of people leave. i think this is also referred to as the 'evil' forum.

A lot of new guys come to the forum and start posting garbage. They don't read or research, and they get flamed, and leave. Sometimes that happens to someone that doesn't deserve it, and that is a shame. I don't think that happens very often.
