Why are FD seatbelt buckles different?

Hey guys, I noticed that my seabelt buckles are different on my FD as well as on other FDs that i've seen. Is there any explanation for this? Also does this difference in seatbelt buckles still hold true for newer FDs (99+). Thanks guys any input would be appreciated.

It has to do with the '93's having an airbag on the driver's side only.
