Thanks, I personally think a near oem FD is perfect in all aspects, The standard wheels are the only downfall as mega wide 17"s suit her best, all imo

And IF you decide to attempt to ream someone about English usage again, perhaps you should use proper grammar, punctuation, and less abbreviations.

It doesn't hurt that they're good looking as hell too. :-)
Wow... I think you hit the nail right on the head. I think that is truest statement I've heard about the FD. Me being a sports car purist I can totally relate...

I know the date is a bit off but I just had to bring this back.

My quick 2 cents:

- The sound of a ported rotary
- The smell of the interior
- The lack of cup holders
- The Oh **** handle

I've wanted one ever since i saw my first one when i was twelve. I hate having a car that everyone else has.

The rx7 is not a car you pick... the car picks you!

I have longed for a 3rd Generation Rx-7 for over 12 years. I finally bought one about 2 weeks ago. Honestly, it is bliss. I have a VERY special place in my heart for FD's. They are absolutely the sexiest car on wheels.

I have owned 7 other Rx7's before this. Helped build a few 400+ FB's and FC's. With the FD, it's not just about speed. Someone said earlier that the car has an ora, and I truly beleive it.

I think that the stigma our cars have for needing so much attention(whether or not it is true of your actual car), only adds to the personality of the FD. Plus of course the way it looks helps. I was driving the other day and pulled up to a red light, and there was a camaro next to me. I could see the guy looking at my car from the corner of my eye, and turned and looked at him. It was an older guy and his wife, and they ask "well what kind of car is that?". I replied that it was an RX-7, and could tell that meant nothing to them. So I said it's a Mazda... I have a Scoot hood, and the guy mentioned, "man that hood looks great, almost like a mini viper from this angle." I will admit, it's pretty awesome when people admire your car, and the personal mods you've done to it.

I've been chasing after this car since 93 ever since i saw it rolling by on the streets back in the days along with Nissan 300z TT and Mitsu 3000gt vr-4. Even today the lines look fresh to me, i never get bored with this FD no matter what.
She love to suck you dry of your money but all that doubt and questioning goes away once you crank the motor and hit the road.

i still remember when i bought my FD about 2 years ago. got it on may 7th, 2007. since the summer had just arrived i would stare at the car over a cold brew around sunset with the radio going so i could rejoice that i finally got one. ever since then, i just have to look at it on my way to work or in some cases ill drive it to work. right now my car is down for a new turbo install and ive spent good earned money on it this past summer. but once i fire it up and go for a drive, all that work, time, money will be properly justified.

around town ive gotten a few compliments altho where i live it is mostly trucks that do the racing. yeah real nuevo leon crap is on the streets but whatever. some people even go so far as to think im driving some kind of euro-corvette mix lol.

I think one of the really neat things about the FDs is that the body styling is almost universally loved.

Ask anyone on another car forum their opinion about FDs and you will usually get...
-it would be awesome if it had a V8
-its to unreliable to be considered a cool car
-you have to throw to much money on it to get any power
-torqueless wonder

What you will almost always here with all of that is it is one gorgeous looking car. I think it looks timeless.

I'm sorry if this doesn't do it for ya, I don't know what will...

Pictures never do a good job of capturing all the curves.

What makes it an exceptional sports car, world class handing, timeless beauty, form after function design and the torch carrier of Lotus Cars and Colin Chapman’s principles, Mazda’s design team were true students of the great engineering genius who believed lightness was built in and every part had to do multiple tasks to justify being onboard.

“Every single automobile on the race track, (and on the road today), owes some part of its design and engineering to Anthony Colin Bruce Chapman, and his Lotus company” but Mazda has put more in than anyone else in both the FD and the Miata.

Sorry for the Lotus plug but I had the honor to go to the Lotus Hethel factory and Lotus Sport facilities today; after years of wondering after Chapman’s death I must say that the company is truely back on track. Less than two weeks ago the Evoro's first owner got his keys, new versions of Exige Cup, GT3 racing and "plus zero" (2 seat Evora is now available); they hired away Ferraris head of road and F1 cars as their new CEO they announced entry back into F1 and they have starting producing 350 and 400Hp 2 seat and 1 seat Evora’s and a next generation Esprit with Lotus developed Lexus V-10 will be coming..

great info on lotus, always loved those cars, the rx8 also keeps some of the same principles in mind, granted it's a 4 seater, but 2800 lbs and a really rigid chassis in a car that spins 9k, not bad IMO

Not to knock Lotus, but don't Evoras only come equipped with one engine option -- a Camry-sourced one at that?

I wish they were 2800, but the real number is actually above 3, sadly. I own one, btw, and agree it's an awesome chassis with at least twice the stiffness of the FD.

NY im in love with me FD3S

my opinion about the Fd3s is the its the 1 and only...
this vehicle just came out at the wrong time and wrong era i believe.
the car was released when being a wack *** baller was in style! the tuning world was out! and so was the fd3s!
Now look! FD3S is crowned King. yes like the others said. this bad mami is super rare. u gotta look at the math! there was only 69,000+ made between 1993-2001! now you gotta look at the RX-7's released in America! they were released for only three years! i feel that the supra aint got **** on the fd3s! come its has a rotary engine. this car is that exclusive!
i was blessed with mine! fellas im a new owner of my Fd3s! and i have a story about this bad bitch! i took a risk of buying a fd3s on ebay. i know its normal, but i was on a deployment in iraq with the marine corps. and paid 12G for it.
long story short i was lucky! thank god. she was beautiful!
but what im try to get to is when i told me mom!
mothers dont know much! but all she did understnad was "1993 car for $12,000."
when the car came home, she want up to me and said" you really shut me up! the car is so beautiful!"
so yes the FD3S is the ****! aint nothing topping the beautiful creation!
